blogsSo it's Christmas TimeSo, its 3 days away from Christmas. Its not looking really good for the Giants, so instead of writing a completely negative entry, I thought I'd focus on something possitive. You know, in the spirit of Christmas. Who is my favorite Giant: AhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhIs it bad that I'm ready to give up on this season and look forward to the draft? Is it really that bad? Could anyone blame me at all? I'm really thinking no. I just don't get this team. Okay, for one thing we're missing about 47 key players due to injury, I'll give them that. But on the other hand they've just given up. I thought Plaxico said that he changed? I thought he said that he wasn't going to give up and try hard? How long did that last, 2 hours? Just cause you try hard in one practice doesn't mean that you try hard all the tie, Plax. Why don't we give someone who will actually try a chance???? Hmmm... Pre-gameOkay, so its just before the Monday night game. I think we can pull this one out on the road at Jacksonville. I just can't read the Jags at all. Sometimes they look really good and sometimes they look aweful. He he. Well, so do we. That game against the bears was horrible because we had it and blew it. Now we've got the Cowboys breathing down out necks. Its just a two team race now that McNabb is injured. The Eagles won't recover. We should be able to make it to the playoffs now. As long as we have the same or better record as the Cowboys, we've got it cause there's no way we're going to lose to any of the other teams. Another Week, Another WinOkay, I'll be honest with you, I didn't watch the game on Sunday. Actually, I didn't write any of the posts I said I was going to. I was in an uber-lazy mood. Well, I bought NHL 2007 and I was playing that. He he. And Sunday I saw The Departed, which was a really good movie. Its weird when you see a movie and you liked Marky Mark's character the best. Really weird. But, it seemed like a boring game. The defense played really well. Kept Cadillac to 20 yards rushing. It seems he's turned into an 1984 Toyota Camery. I would know cause I drove one in high school. The d played well even though we didn't have Osi or Lavar. Tuesday Morning QuarterbackSo last night wasn't bad. We kicked the crap out of the Cowboys, which is always fun to watch. Nice to see T.O. drop a crucial pass in the game. Also nice to see the Redskins and the Eagles lose. So, we are in first place all by ourselves. I'll be honest, I'm really surprised by this. I thought we would be okay, I just didn't think the rest of the NFC East would struggle. I didn't think we played amazing last night, but it was good to see us push them around and our defense do well in clutch situations. Plus, the Drew and Tony Ro - Oh No!!! show was great to watch. Good going Bill. It was nice we got you when you were good. MondayWell, it was really nice to see the Giants perform the way they did on Sunday. The running game was amazing. The Falcons, which have one of the better D's in the league, couldn't stop Tiki or Jacobs all game. Its sad when the Giants outrush the Falcons, who have the best running game in the NFL. They also averaged only giving up 64 yards a game rushing and the Giants put up 250+ yards. And we also came back from what looked like a backbreaking 90 td run by Dunn. Honestly, I thought we were Done after that. Okay, sorry for the really bad joke. But it was great to see the offense go and to see Shockey catch a couple td catches. Its been a whileYeah, so I've been lazy this week, plus the Mets are in the playoffs, so I thought I'd give a Friday little blog on the team and stuff. One thing that I'm concerned about is Shockey. He's one of the best TE's out there, but for some reason he's always injured. It seems that every season he's battling some type of injury. It sucks because I think he could put up amazing numbers if he wasn't always hobbled with injuries. Its a very unfortunate thing. Sunday's game is going to be interesting. If we can pull this one out, I think it'll give us the momentum we'll need for the rest of the season and hopefully we can end up in the playoffs. MondayOkay, so the game was kinda boring. Ha ha, that's probably an understatement, but I liked the way that we held the ball for most of the game. Eli played a really good, smart game. No picks, which is nice for him. He was pretty accurate, but could have been a little better. There were a couple times that he could have hit Shockey for some big games but missed him. Still, it was a pretty good game all around. I was really impressed with the D in this game. It was nice to see Osi playing a lot better than before. Hopefully we can build on this for our game next week in the ATL. FiguresOkay, what's going on with this team? Are we a bunch of headcases or are we going to pull it together. We have soooo much talent, I just don't know where its going. It seems like everyone's out for themselves and that we can't play as a unit. Oh well. I really hope Coughlin can pull the troops together and get this ship going in the right direction. I don't get it, though. He's suppose to be a coach that instills discipline in his players, yet he hasn't been able to do that. Some how we've had two incredible comebacks the last two weeks and almost a third in week one. Maybe Coughlin will realize that he needs to go to the no huddle with this team. InterestingOkay, I don't want to write too much about Sunday or my head my explode. But, I'm just going to say some positive things and leave all the negative things out. Why don't we move to the no-huddle offense? Really, what's taking them so long to realize this is best for Eli? He's awesome in it. He works sooooooo well once they go to it. Look what he's done the past two games in it! He got 24 points against the Eagles, 20 points against the Seahawks, all in the second half using the no-huddle. He's thrown 6 td's using it. I'm not sure what he did in the first game using it, but I bet its pretty good. |
