So it's Christmas Time

So, its 3 days away from Christmas. Its not looking really good for the Giants, so instead of writing a completely negative entry, I thought I'd focus on something possitive. You know, in the spirit of Christmas. Who is my favorite Giant:
Well, I've only been a fan of the Giants since about 1987, so I can't go back too far. I've only got about 20 years of watching the Giants to draw from. So, my pick for favorite player of all time has to be Jeremy Shockey, and yes this might come as a shock. Okay, okay, I know that was bad. But I've liked Shockey since the moment that we drafted him. I love the way that he plays. He blocks well, he makes defenses change their schemes because they have to cover him, he plays with emotion, and he's really good. I remember the first preseason game when he flattened a db after a catch. The fire that he had. He hasn't lost it in all of these years. The one bad thing that some people didn't like about him was that he was cocky. But I've seen him mature these past couple years and turn into a real leader on the team. There's just something great when you get #80 into the game. This year he's been battling an injured hand and he's still had a pro bowl year. Its just great when he's around. I love it when we're running the two minute offense and he makes a catch. Instead of doing some stupid first down celebration, he jumps right up, give the ball to the ref and gets set up for the next play. And I'm going to enjoy watching him play until the day he retires, which hopefully he'll be a giant. So, lets hope that our guys can turn things around and get into the playoffs and do some damage and we can start 2007 on a good note.
